Obituary of Amanda Wise
Amanda Dorothy Wise, 18, of Tobyhanna, died Monday, August 16 as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Born in Bronx, New York, she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Knight) Weidman of Tobyhanna and James Wise of Marblehead, MA.
A senior at Pocono Mountain West, Amanda was a member of the Field Hockey Team.
In addition to her mother and father, she is survived by three brothers, James and Brandon Wise of Tobyhanna, Nicholas Wise of Massachusetts; grandmother, Vivian (Vicky) Knight of Tobyhanna; step-mother, Tanya Wise of Marblehead, MA; step-father, Clinten Trinkley of Tobyhanna; Aunt Kimberly McNamara and her husband Michael, Aunt Christine Knight, Uncle Charles E. Knight, Uncle John Wise and his wife Lori, Aunt Debbie Fairweather, Uncle Michael Wise, Great Uncle John Rios; and many cousins.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, August 18, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. The Reverend Father John Boyle will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann's Church in Tobyhanna on Thursday, August 19 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow.
A scholarship fund has been set up in the name of Amanda Wise for the Marblehead and Pocono Mountain West field hockey teams. One scholarship per school will be issued for a field hockey student to use towards college.
