Obituary of Alta Coffman

Alta Marie Coffman, 94, of Cresco, died Thursday, September 16 at the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Francis Coffman. Born in Henryville and a life-long resident of Paradise Township, she was the daughter of Clarence and Bessie (Post) Besecker. Alta was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Swiftwater. She is survived by a son, William Coffman of Cresco, and his wife, Barbara; daughter, Brenda Sherwood of Cresco, and her husband Jack; brother, Marshall Besecker of San Antonio, Texas; daughter-in-law Joyce Coffman of Stockridge, Massachusetts; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Coffman; and four brothers, Jim, Allen, David, and Richard Besecker. There will be a viewing on Monday, September 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. The Reverend George Alt will conduct a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery in Swiftwater.
