Obituary of Marie Baldassari

Marie A. Baldassari, 83, of Mountainhome, died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Azio "Ace" Baldassari with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage in October 2010. > Born in Hoboken, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Bado) Garibaldi. > > > Marie was a graduate of Weehawken High School, class of 1946 and Berkley Secretarial School in New York City. She was employed by Conde Nast Publishing as Secretary to the Editor of Better Homes & Garden Magazine. She was a member of St. Bernadette's Church in Canadensis and a founding member of the Lady's Auxiliary Pope John XXIII Assembly, Benedict XV Council of the Knights of Columbus in Cliffside Park, NJ. She was a lifelong resident of Hudson County, NJ before retiring to the Poconos with her husband Ace in 1989. > > Marie is survived by her three children: Lynn Baer and her husband David of Scotch Plains, NJ, Robert Baldassari and his wife Victoria of Canadensis, and Janis Baldassari of Mountainhome; a brother: Thomas Garibaldi and his wife Charlotte of Oradell, NJ; six grandchildren: Sara Farrell, Erin Baer, Robert Baldassari, Jr., Tori Baldassari and Michael and Daniel Tafuri; and two great grandchildren: Charlotte and Cade Farrell. > > There will be a visitation on Friday, September 23 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390, Cresco. The Reverend Father Joseph Kopacz will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 24 at 11:00 am at the Church of St. Bernadette, route 390 in Canadensis. Interment will be private.
