Obituary of Richard Meneilly Sr.

Richard J. Meneilly Sr., 78, of Effort, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at VNA Hospice of Monroe County in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Kathleen (Leggieri) Meneilly. Born in Syracuse, he was the son of the late Howard and Arlene (Kellogg) Meneilly. Before his retirement, Richard worked in the truck parts department at Pocono Peterbuilt. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge 780 in Cresco, and past Worshipful Master, also a member of the Monroe Chapter 99, Order of the Eastern Star and past patron; Dorothy Lim Memorial Court #110, Order of the Amaranth and past patron. Richard also served in the Navy during the Korean Era. In addition to his wife, Kathleen, he survived by a son, Richard J. Meneilly Jr. of Effort; one daughter, Richelle Piccirillo and her husband Jeff of Albrightsville; three brothers-in-law, David Leggieri and wife Kathie of Tannersville; William Leggieri of New Jersey; and Anthony Leggieri of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Jacalyn, Jacob, Anthony, Dominick and Gianna Piccirillo; one niece, Samantha Leggieri. A Masonic Service will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. at Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 and 390, Paradise Valley. There will be viewing from 6:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bolock Funeral Home, P.O. Box 763, Mt. Pocono, Pa 18344, to defray funeral costs.
