Obituary of Joanne Durante

Joanne D. Durante, 58, of Pocono Lake, died Wednesday March 24, 2010 at Hospice Community Care in Wilkes-Barre. She was the wife of Joseph Durante. Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy (Marshall) Tareila. Until her retirement, she was employed by the United States Government as a subsistence inventory control person in the Defense Personnel Support Center in Philadelphia. Joanne was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church and former member of the Vestry St. James Episcopal Church in Prospect Park. In addition to her husband, Joseph, she survived by her father and mother in-law, Joseph and Delores Durante of Aston; and an Aunt, Norma Geigus of Pheonixville; and several cousins. The Reverend Father Charles Rice will conduct a funeral service on Monday March 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church, Mt. Pocono, Pa. There will be a viewing at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at the Laurelwood Cemetery, 901 Bryant Street, Stroudsburg, Pa 18360. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Community Care, 601 Wyoming Ave, Kingston, Pa 18704 or the American Cancer Society, 712 S. Keyser Avenue, Taylor, Pa 18517.
