Obituary of Philip Ames

Philip H. Ames, Jr., 73, of Paradise Valley, passed away on Saturday, December 19 at home. He was the husband of Anne (Beever) Ames. Born in Norwalk, CT, he was the son of the late Phillip H. Ames, Sr. and Dorothy (Cross) Ames and a graduate of Summit High School in Summit, NJ. Philip was a talented self-employed machinist. He enjoyed fishing with his wife and best friend, Anne. A well traveled individual, Philip was very proud of his Irish Heritage and loved his Irish music. He was a veteran of the United States Army who served in the Signal Corp. In addition to his wife, Anne, he is survived by four daughters, Donna Guadarama and her husband, Javier of Basking Ridge, NJ, Diane Harrison and her husband, Tom Kuntz of Basking Ridge, NJ, Wendy Willard and her husband Tony of Ruskin, FL, Kelly Rotell and her husband, Vincent of Archbald; he was lovingly referred to as "Fad" to his four grandaughters, Ashley McGee, Kristen McGee, Katy Rotell, and Erin Rotell; and "Popee" to his beloved grandson, Geronimo Guadarama. There will be a 2:00 visitation Wednesday, December 23 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. Private cremation was entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
