Obituary of Lois Murphy

Lois F. Murphy, 61, of Tobyhanna died Sunday afternoon at the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County, East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Patrick Murphy. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Joan Liebl Baur. Before retiring, Lois worked as a research analyst for Merrill Lynch in Manhattan for 30 years. She then moved to the Pocono's eight years ago. Lois is survived by three brothers, Alan Kratz of Oakdale, Long Island, Kenneth Baur of Glendale, NY, and Scott Baur of Howard Beach, NY; three sisters, Kerry Baur of Jamaica Estates, NY, Donnalee Serraino of Tobyhanna, and Suanne Cavanaugh of Tobyhanna. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Colin Baur. Rev. John Charnock will celebrate a funeral service on Wednesday, May 31 at 11:30 am at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390, Paradise Valley. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery in Swiftwater. There will be a viewing from 10 am until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Lois's name to the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County, 502 Independence Road, East Stroudsburg, Pa 18301.
