Obituary of James Dunker

James C. Dunker, 80, of Pocono Summit and formerly of Livingston Manor, New York, died Tuesday, May 9 at Adams Manor in Scranton. He was the husband of Lois (Welsch) Dunker. Born in New York, New York, he was the son of the late Philip and Gertrude (Campbell) Dunker. Before his retirement, he was employed as a building superintendent in New York City. He was a member of Saint Mary of the Mount Church in Mt. Pocono. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mary Katherine Hyatt and her husband, Stephen of Pocono Summit; one brother, Neal Dunker of Far Rockaway, New York; a sister, Doris Dunker of Manhattan, New York; two grandchildren, James Hyatt of Pocono Summit and Theresa Griffin and her husband, Roger of Lewis, New York; and two great grandchildren, Samantha and Thomas Griffin of Lewis, New York. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Esther, his twin brother, Philip, and brother, Gerald Dunker. The Reverend Monsignor Arthur Kaschenbach will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 12 at Saint Mary of the Mount Church, Fairview Avenue in Mt. Pocono. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, New York. There will be a viewing on Thursday, May 11 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley.
