Obituary of Barbara Purser

Barbara J. Purser, 69, of Pocono Lake died Saturday, May 6 at home. She was the wife of Marvin "Marty" Purser. Born in New York, New York, she was the daughter of the late Vincent J. and Elizabeth (Rosel) Crowe. Prior to retiring, Barbara was a Pharmaceutical Assistant. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and its Crafty Ladies Club. In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by three sons, Michael Purser of Bronx NY, Kevin Purser of Elkton KY, Joseph Purser of Blakeslee; two daughters, Eileen Davis and Diana Sylvander, both of Pocono Lake; two brothers, John Crowe of NY and James Crowe of NJ, three sisters, Katherine Fuller of GA, Elizabeth Watson of NY, and Agnes Crossman of NH, twelve Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews. There will be a viewing on Monday, May 8 from 6 to 8:30 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390, Paradise Valley. The Reverend Father Thomas Mc Laughin will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 9 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Pocono Lake. Friends and family may gather from 9:30 am until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
