Obituary of Edward Mallia

Edward A. Mallia, Sr. 74, of Tannersville, died Monday, May 8 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. Born in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of the late Anthony and Cecilia (Swain) Mallia. He was an architect for the Caesar's Resorts, and several other resorts in the Poconos and the Catskills of New York. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served in the United States Marines during the Korean conflict. He is survived by two sons, Michael Mallia of Floral Park, New York, John Mallia of Douglastown, New York; a daughter, Alexandria Mallia of East Stroudsburg; and a sister, Mary Mastrangelo of Rensselear, New York. Monsignor Arthur Kaschenbach will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 11 at Saint Mary of the Mount Church in Mt. Pocono. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery in New York. There will be a viewing from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley.
