Obituary of Paul Granahan

Paul H. Granahan Sr., 74, of Canadensis, lost his battle with lung cancer on Monday, June 14, 2010 at home. He was the husband of Louise A. (Seese) Granahan to whom he was married for 46 years. Born in Pittston, he was the son of John P. and Mary C. (McAndrew) Granahan. Paul was a machinist, but most recently worked as a Security Officer with Buck Hill Falls Company, Buck Hill Falls. He also worked as a waiter in many resorts in the Poconos. He was a member of St. Luke's Church in Stroudsburg. Paul was a U. S. Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict. In addition to his wife Louise, he is survived by a son, Paul Granahan, Jr. of Canadensis; a daughter, Patricia Kirk of Stroudsburg; two brothers, John Granahan and his wife Ethel of Pittston, Joseph Granahan of Pittston; a sister, Mary Bannon of Goldsboro, NC; grandson, Michael Granahan and Dena of Stroudsburg; Granddaughter, Amanda Granahan-Gonzalez and her husband, Felix of Stroudsburg; great grandson twins, Sebastian and Ethan Gonzalez; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cyril and Charles Granahan, and a sister, Theresa Granahan, all formerly of Pittston. Special thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice, Nurse-Sandra Muller-White, Tom and Eve of the Bloomin' Onion, Bill, Jackie, Bob and Sarah Seese; as well as Becki and Terrance Willis. There will be a visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 17 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. The Reverend Father Carmen Perry will conduct a Blessing Service at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 18 followed by military services. Private cremation was entrusted to the Bolock funeral Home Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Barrett Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 105, Cresco, Pa. 18326
