Obituary of David Ohmnacht

David A. "Chip" Ohmnacht, 49, of Cresco, lost a five year courageous battle with multiple myeloma on Tuesday, September 27 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with his family at his side. He was the loving husband of Ann Marie (Cerra) Ohmnacht. Born in Carbondale, he was the son of Patricia (Cost) Dilley and the late David C. Ohmnacht. He was raised in the Carbondale area by his mother, Patricia and step-father, Russell Dilley. After experiencing different jobs, Chip began his career in the HVAC industry in 1988, eventually attaining a management position with Petro Heating and Air Conditioning Service in Allentown. He was a selfless and caring man who loved camping and vacationing at the beach. He enjoyed cooking and entertaining, always ready and willing to open his home for a "Party on the Patio." Chip was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a dedicated Little League coach, who was looked up to as a father figure and role model by his team players. Chip was always grateful for the love, support, and encouragement, and especially prayers offered by family and friends. His love for his children was paramount in his life, never missing any activity in which they were involved. He was an exceptional and devoted Dad, proud of every accomplishment achieved by his children, David A. Ohmnacht, Jr. and Cerra J. Ohmnacht. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by three brothers, Jeffrey "Mushkie" Ohmnacht and wife Mary Beth, Carbondale, Scott Ohmnacht and wife Elissa, Peckville; Russell Dilley and wife, Joanna, Glenshaw; sister-in-law, Michele Piatt and husband, Bill, Crystal Lake; brother-in-law, Joseph F.
