Obituary of Marilyn Butz

Marilyn Butz, 69, of Scotrun, passed away on Monday, July 24 at home. She was the wife of Karl Butz. Born in East Stroudsburg, and raised in Pocono Summit, she was the daughter of the late Issac and Ethel (Paul) Miller. A graduate of East Stroudsburg State Teacher's College (ESU), Marilyn earned her masters in education at the University of Scranton. Before her retirement, Marilyn was a teacher for the Pocono Mountain School District for 25 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Jeffrey Butz of Swiftwater; a daughter, Lorri Zimmerman and her husband, Michael of Scotrun; a brother, Robert Miller and his wife MaryLou of Tobyhanna; and four grandchildren, Jeffrey C. Butz of Swiftwater, Kendell and Ryan Zimmerman of Scotrun, and Michael Zimmerman, Jr. of Hamburg. Mr. Richard Drosnock will conduct a funeral service at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. There will be a visitation from 6:30 until the time of service. Interment will be private.
