Obituary of William Barlieb

William J. Barlieb, 31, of Tobyhanna, died Saturday, May 1 at home. Born in Allentown, he was the son of John Barlieb and Mary Mallard- Barlieb of Tobyhanna. William attended the Scranton State School for the Deaf. He graduated from Pocono Mountain High School and was a member of St. Ann's Church in Tobyhanna. During his time at school, he participated in the Special Olymipcs and was involved in RISE, a handicapped riding program in Monroe County. William attended Devereux Pocono Center in Newfoundland. In addition to his parents, William is survived by his sister: Captain Anne Barlieb of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; his Aunt: Margaret Urda and her husband John of South Thomaston, Maine; special friends: Claude & Sharon Pope, Monica & Bob Rossick, Pam Summerville and Rosemarie Cardin; and two cousins. William was preceded in death by his grandparents. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, May 4 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390, Paradise Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 5 at 10:00 am at St. Ann's Church, Main St., Tobyhanna. Interment will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
