Obituary of John Jones

John E. "Pudgy" Jones, 61, of Tobyhanna and formerly of Lindenhurst, New York, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Katherine (DeRosa) Jones. Born in Amityville, New York, he was the son of the late Joseph K. and Madeline (Heuer) Jones. He grew up in Lindenhurst, Long Island, New York. Until his retirement, John was employed as an installation and repair manager for Verizon. He loved the beach, traveling and reading. A United States Army veteran, John served during the VietNam War. He was the best husband in the world to Katherine R. Jones; greatest Dad to Melissa, Casey, and Ryane Jones; and the best Poppy to Sierra Jones, Jack Stauton, Brayden Gooch, Nolan Gooch, and Beatrice Stauton. He was also the beloved brother of Kenneth Gary Jones, uncle to many nieces and nephews, and good friend to many. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, August 11 from 1:30 to 3:30 and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. A Blessing Service will take place at 7:30 following the evening viewing. Private cremation is entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
