Obituary of Gloria E. Gleason

Gloria E. Gleason, 79, of Swiftwater, died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Edward W. Gleason, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. Born Feb. 23, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late George and Catherine (Joyce) Thompson. She is survived by four sons: Edward Gleason of Rockville Centre, N.Y.; Michael Gleason of Swiftwater; Stephen Gleason of Swiftwater; and Dennis Gleason of Hellertown; two daughters, Deborah Gleason of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Donna Abbriano of Stroudsburg; brothers James and Donald Thompson; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at Bolock Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A private graveside service will follow on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
