Obituary of Patricia Marie Reed

Patricia Marie Reed, 76, of Pocono Pines, died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at home with her family at her side. Born in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Alice (Sansenbach) Weirich. A true matriarch of Pocono Pines, Patricia was one of the most caring, loyal and loving souls that served the community. She devoted her life to helping others, especially those who were less privileged. She was a member of Salem UCC and of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 413, where for many years she proudly served as steward. She was a strong advocate and leader of many of the legion's endeavors, including the Angel Program. Patricia will be fondly remembered as a hostess and manager for close to 20 years at Van Gilders Jubilee restaurant in Pocono Pines. Patricia was a former chairman of the Monroe County Republican Committee and the past president of the Pocono Mountain PTA. She was a devoted and doting mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Although, tough at times, she protected and showered all of her family with love and praise, and was always a proud supporter of her children and grandchildren's involvement in sports, music, theater and arts. Patricia was a true gift to her family and the community, and will be missed tremendously. She is survived by her sons: Tom Reed of Tampa, Fla.; Jim Fuller and his wife, Andrea, of Pocono Pines; Tim Reed and his wife, Irene, of Pocono Pines; and Scott Fuller and his former wife, Cathy, of Pocono Pines; a brother, Robert Weirich; sisters: Joan Knecht and Donna Burke; grandchildren: Mandy Reed Alabovitz, Cory Fuller, Stephanie Reed, Timmy Reed, Alli Fuller, Brian Reed, Robbie Fuller and Bradley Fuller; great-grandchildren: Ronin Bonilla, Amaya Bonilla, Chloe Alabovitz and Leo Alabovitz; cousins: Lois Huffman and Robert Fischer; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Arthur and Alice, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Doris Scott and Marlene Kolodziejski; and her brothers: John, Kenneth, Barry and Richard Weirich. There will be a viewing from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Rev. John Stowell will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Salem UCC, 108 Church St., Pocono Pines. Burial will follow at Pocono Lake Cemetery, Old 940, Pocono Pines. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Patricia may be made to the American Legion Post 413 "Angel" program, Old Route 940, Pocono Lake, PA 18347.
