Obituary of Shirley A. Phelan

Shirley A. Phelan, 63, of Pocono Summit, died Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Whitestone Health Care Center in Stroudsburg. She was the loving wife of the late James Phelan, Sr. whom passed away in 2008. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Mildred Mann. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her two granddaughters, both at home and during trips to the Jersey shore where she enjoyed the Ocean City and Atlantic City Boardwalks. She is survived by her son, James Phelan, Jr. and his wife, Angela Phelan of Mays Landing, N.J.; her daughter, Jennifer Crosby and her husband, Thomas of Tobyhanna; a brother, George Mount of Somerset, PA; granddaughters, Piper Crosby and Samantha Phelan. There will be a viewing from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will conduct a blessing service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation at wish.org Private cremation is entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
