Obituary of Eileen M. Blackmore

Eileen M. Blackmore, 77, of Cresco, died on Monday, December 8, 2014. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Blackmore Jr. and the companion of John Mazzola. Born in New York City, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Lillian (Martin) Shanley. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Bernadette in Canadensis. Eileen and her husband, Richard bought their home in Cresco in 1969. In 1991, she made it her permanent residence. Eileen spent her working career teaching piano, and as a former Key Punch Operator in New York. She was the owner and operator of E.B. Ceramic Studio in New Jersey and a Real Estate Agent for Schlott Realtors, also located in New Jersey. She was active in the community and spent a majority of her time volunteering for various organizations including the Barrett Paradise Friendly Library, Ceramics to Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, The Deborah Foundation, RSVP and St. Bernadette's Prayer Shaw Committee. Eileen was a member of the Elks Club Women's Auxiliary, The Pocono Painters Association and the Women's club in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. When she wasn't volunteering her time she enjoyed going to the casino, traveling, and visiting and spending time with her family and friends. She was survived by two sons: Richard Blackmore III and his wife, Helen of Cresco and Keith Blackmore and his wife, Eileen of Jackson, N.J.; a daughter, Jean Marie Bollhardt and her husband, Richard of Forked River, N.J.; two stepsons: Paul Mazzola and his wife, Sandy of N.C. and Robert Mazzola and his wife, Lissan of CO.; a stepdaughter, Patricia Mazzola of N.C.; grandchildren: Keith Jr., Daniel, Richard IV, Brett, John, Theodore, Bryan; great-grandchild Dylan; step grandchildren: Amy, Erica, Charles and Brian; step great-grandchildren: Cyrus, Cameron, Stella, Van, Anna Louise, Magdalenia and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, John Gerard, sister Lillian O'Neill and stepson Michael. The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday, December 13, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will conduct a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County, 502 VNA Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
