Obituary of Joan R. Singer

Joan R. Singer, 83, of Reeders, died Dec. 24, 2014, at VNA Hospice House in East Stroudsburg. She was the loving wife of Richard Singer, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Bangor, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Mildred (Albert) Rush. Joan graduated from Belvidere High School, Belvidere, N.J., and attended cosmetology school in Philadelphia. She was a beautician for 43 years. Joan shared her time and talent in sewing and baking with 4-H, the Girl and Boy scouts, ALS Association, Atlantic Fire Department, the Opportunity Shop and all those she cared for. In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by her son, Kurt Singer and his wife, Annie, of Reeders; daughter Casandra Dietz and her husband, William, of Paradise Valley; son-in-law Warren Ames and his wife, Jodi, of Titusville, N.J.; grandchildren: Jason and Zachary Singer, Amanda Dietz, Nora and Adam Ames, and Alina O'Donnell; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Singer-Ames; her grandson, Willie Dietz; and two sisters, Jane Hoffman and Mildred “Cissy” Rush. There will be no services at this time. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home & Crematory.
