Obituary of Fred Tallada
Fred W. Tallada, 76, of Cresco, died Wednesday, October 12 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Carolyn (Wilson) Tallada, to whom he was married for 57 years.
Born in Bartonsville, he was the son of the late Spencer and Sara (Shively) Tallada.
Before his retirement, Fred was a foreman for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He was a United States Army veteran.
Fred was an active member of the Free and Accepted Masons Pocono Lodge #780 in Cresco, Keystone Consistory of Scranton, Monroe Royal Arch Chapter #281, Samuel S. Yoke #081, and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Pocono Forest #124. He was chosen Mason of the Year in 1993. Fred also served as a DeMolay "DAD" Advisor. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #0346 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1106.
Fred served as a Supervisor in Paradise Township in 1969, and received the Certificate of Appreciation from the township in 1998. He was a volunteer for the Barrett Elementary 5th & 6th Grade Basketball in 1966 and also volunteered at Monsignor McHugh 5th & 6th Grade Basketball in 1968.
In addition to his wife, Carolyn, he is survived by three children; Fred Tallada Jr. of Port Charlotte, Fl; Jean Rake of Cresco, and Debra Tallada of East Stroudsburg; two brothers, Royd Tallada and his wife Jean of Stroudsburg, Spencer Tallada and his wife Alberta of East Stroudsburg; five sisters, Genevieve Post of Mountainhome, Margaret Holmes of East Stroudsburg, Mary Dippre of Stroudsburg, Carol Jean Krock of Brodheadsvile, Pauline Tallada of East Stroudsburg; sisters in law, Lilamae Tallada and Beverly Bogart; brother in law Robert T. Wilson, Sr.; six grandchildren, Michael Reed and his wife Connie, Fred Tallada III and his wife Kathy, Angela Kocher and her husband Jacob, Karissa Tallada, Kevin Rake, Jami Tallada; nine great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Cassidy, and Carly Reed, Kylee, Kaleb, and Kira Tallada, Makayla Kocher, Jayden and Makenzi Christensen; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clair, George, and James Tallada.
There will be a viewing on Saturday, October 15 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road in Cresco. Members of the Pocono Lodge will conduct a Masonic Service at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service conducted by Pastor George Alt. Private cremation is entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
