Obituary of Duane E. Pope

Duane E. Pope, 36, of Hershey, formerly of Cresco, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at his home. He was the son of Dean Sr. and Sandra (Thomas) Pope. Duane was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, hiking, four wheeling, snowmobiling, cutting down trees and splitting firewood. He was a talented cook, who used the best and freshest ingredients that he grew in his own garden, which he also loved canning. Duane enjoyed landscaping and making his property beautiful with his plants, flowers, and ponds. He always loved being outside and enjoying God's creation by simply looking up at the beautiful blue sky. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancé, Victoria Spence; brothers, Dean Pope, Jr. and his wife, Angel, Shawn Pope and his wife, Crystal; grandfather, Stanley Pope; uncles, William Thomas and companion Laura Longyhore, Larry Pope and his wife, Carol, aunt; Lucinda Hall and her husband, Bob; Aunt Teri Schuler and her husband, Richard; Aunt Barb and her husband, Uncle Paulie Chaderton; nephew, Landon Pope and several cousins. There will be a visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Pastor Jonathan Hall will conduct a funeral service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
