Obituary of Joseph E. Mahon, Jr.

Joseph E. Mahon Jr., 71, of Greentown, died Saturday, January 17, 2015 at his home. Born in Newark, N.J., he was the son of the late Joseph E. Sr. and Agnes (Borst) Mahon. Joseph worked as a chef at various resorts throughout the Poconos, most recently Skytop Lodge. He was a staunch member of A.A. for close to 40 years, acting as a friend, sponsor, and mentor to many. He is survived by his brother, John Mahon, Sr. of Canadensis; and his nephews, John Mahon, Jr. and Sean Mahon. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Mahon. There will be a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 23 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Most Holy Trinity will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Bernadette, route 390, Canadensis. Burial will take place at St. Teresa's Cemetery, 136 Passaic Ave., Summit, N.J.
