Obituary of Richard Lutz

Richard H. "Dick" Lutz, Sr. 75, of Canadensis, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at home with his family by his side after a long and courageous fight with cancer. He was the husband of Shirley (Strong) Lutz. Born on June 9, 1936, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Florence (Marshall) Lutz and was a lifetime resident of the area. "Dick" had a longtime career in the excavating business before becoming employed by the Pocono Mt. School District. He was also the proprietor of Crystal Springs Trout Farm for many years. "Dick" was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and many sporting events. A loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by his children, Debra of Easton, Richard Jr. of Tobyhanna, Lloyd and his wife Melanie of Canadensis, and Kimberly Toms and her husband John of Henryville; grandchildren, Lawrence Raisner, Jr. and his wife Nichole of Canadensis, Ryan and his wife Megan of Moundsview, MN, Jerome of Bartonsville, Michael of Norristown, Jamie of Stroudsburg, and a great grandchild, Arianna DeFreitas. Also surviving, are two brothers, Alfred of Virginia, Ronald of the Carolinas, and a sister, Nancy Evans of Canadensis, and several nieces and nephews. There will be a Memorial Gathering on Sunday, October 16 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road in Cresco. In lieu o flowers, the family requests memorial remembrances made to the American Cancer Society, Central Control, PO Box 955, Hershey, PA 17033
