Obituary of Johann "John" Pickelhaupt

Johann “John” Pickelhaupt, 85, of Scotrun, died peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2015. He was the loving husband of Hilda (Abele) Pickelhaupt. Born in Hungary, he was the son of the late Konrad and Elisabeth (Buchert) Pickelhaupt. Before retiring after 40 years of service, John was employed with the Budd Company in Philadelphia, a major supplier of body components to the automobile industry and a manufacturer of stainless steel passenger rail cars. John always had a passion for automobiles, especially sports and antique cars. However, his favorite was his Mercedes Benz. He also had a fondness for animals, and enjoyed relaxing with his own pets or watching animals in the wild that would frequent his property. In addition to his wife, Hilda, he is survived by his daughters: Ilona Binswanger and her husband Al of Lansdale, Elisabeth Siegfried and her husband David of Reeders, Katharina Aruanno and her husband Michael of Reeders; grandchildren: Jenny, Nathan, Nicci, Taylor, Michael and a great grandchild: Sabina. There will be a service on Saturday, February 7 at 2pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Scotrun Avenue, Scotrun. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of John may be made to AWSOM, PO Box 13, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Cremation is entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
