Obituary of Christine V. Gabbett

Christine V. Gabbett, 77, of Tobyhanna died Friday, February 6, in her home. Born in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Virginia T. (Taylor) Gabbett. She was a member of the Church of St. Ann in Tobyhanna. Christine began teaching in a one room schoolhouse in Virginia and later taught in New Jersey. She went on to work for the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office for over 20 years, and retired as a Lieutenant from the Hackensack, NJ Police Department. She is survived by a brother, Gregory M. Gabbett and wife Dian of Loretto, TN, her beloved nieces and nephews, and many cousins. Christine was preceded in death by her brother, Paul D. Gabbett. There will be a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 12, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Paul Fontanella will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 12, at the Church of St. Ann, Main Street, Tobyhanna. Interment will be at Quabbin Park Cemetery, Springfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Most Holy Trinity Parish, 236 Route 390, Cresco, PA 18326.
