Obituary of Regina B. Schweitzer

Regina B. (Reggie) Schweitzer, 79, of East Stroudsburg, died Wednesday, February 4, 2015. She was the widow of L. Robert Schweitzer, of Clinton N.J. Born in Woodbridge, N.J., she was the daughter of the late John (Jack) and Regina (Jean) Zulkowski. Reggie grew up in Woodbridge, N.J. A graduate of Woodbridge High School (1953), She later earned an Associates degree at Somerset County College and Bachelor's Degree at Kean College. After a varied career in business and technical fields in N.J., Reggie relocated permanently to the Poconos, where she was employed by at the Monroe County Vo Tech (now Monroe Career and Technical Institute) in Bartonsville. Her favorite position at the Vo Tech was teaching adult education courses in computer literacy, Microsoft Office, and Internet. Many Pocono residents will remember her educational and entertaining computer classes. Reggie was an avid world traveler in her younger years. In retirement, Reggie enriched her education by participating in TOALC courses on a regular basis, and she thoroughly enjoyed everything that was social, lively, and entertaining. She is survived by her daughters, Lori Van Decker of Tobyhanna and Diane Van Decker of Keyport, N.J.; her son Leon Schweitzer and his wife, TJ of Firestone, CO; grandson, Robert Schweitzer of Firestone, CO; granddaughter, Kirsten Barkmeier and her husband, Scott of Portland, OR. In her later years, Reggie enjoyed going on mini vacations at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City and to local movies with her friend Marme Mathews. A visitation from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, will be held at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. At 2:30 pm, the family will hold a memorial session and asks friends to participate by sharing their special memories of Reggie. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society, to Second Harvest Food Bank of Monroe County, or to a charitable organization of your choice
