Obituary of Glenway R. Dailey

Glenway R. "Pete" Dailey, 70, of Tobyhanna, died Monday, February 16, 2015 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the loving companion of Sophia H. Swingle for 44 years. Born in Tobyhanna, he was the son of the late Grover and Minnie (Keiper) Dailey. Glenway was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. He was an active member of the carpenters union Local 600 in Bethlehem for more than 30 years. Glenway was a member of the American Legion-Wilson Fischer Post 413, the VFW Post 509 the Monroe Beagle Club and the Tobyhanna United Methodist Church. In addition to his companion, Sophia, he is survived by Richard Swingle who was like a son to him for 44 years; sisters, Carol Ann Hollowell and her husband, Norman of Suffolk, VA, and Emma Jean Dailey of Bethlehem; brothers, Bobby Dean Sabatine and his friend, John of Stroudsburg; nieces, Heather Dailey of Scranton, Amy Montgomery and her husband, Chris of Kitty Hawk, N.C., Kimberly Taylor and her husband, Carl of Suffolk, VA; nephews, Phil Dailey and his girlfriend, Jackie Futchko of Stroudsburg, Richard Einfalt and his wife, Stacy of Maryland, Peter Einfalt and his wife, Mary Alice of Nazareth and numerous great nieces and nephews. Glenway was preceded in death by his brother, Chester Dailey whom passed away in 2007. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 20, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Burial will be private at Pocono Lake Cemetery.
