Obituary of James T. Gilligan

James T. Gilligan, 75, of Cresco, died Friday, February 13, 2015 at his home. He was the loving husband of Marilyn (DeZego) Gilligan. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late James and Lois (Humphrey) Gilligan. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, James served 4 years on the aircraft carrier USS Independence. After the Navy he worked for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Seaboard Airlines and Flying Tiger Airline. After several merges he retired from Fed Ex Cargo Airlines. His main passion in life was his family. He loved to garden and had an interest in American History, WWII Aircraft and air shows. Jim was a true Patriot. In addition to his wife Marilyn, he is survived by his daughter, Maureen Gilligan and her fiancé, Daniel Rundle of Sciota; sons, Kevin Gilligan and his fiancée, Clarise Fedor of Philadelphia, Sean Gilligan and his wife, Melissa of Chambersburg and James T. Gilligan, Jr. and his fiancée, Jody Lee Wo of Jim Thorpe; seven grandchildren, Patrick and Meghan Seufer, Brendan, Cameron, Ryan, Shane and Joseph Gilligan. There will be a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 23, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Paul Fontanella with conduct a blessing service at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown.
