Obituary of Frances A. Skan

Frances A. Skan, 32, of Greentown, died March 5, 2015, at Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia after a nine-month battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She was the loving wife of Benjamin Skan. Born in Rahway, N.J., she was a daughter of James Sr. and Frances (Farrell) Decatur. Frances resided in Stafford, England; while there, she was a member of the Kingsmead Baptist Church in Hednesford, England, where she was church secretary, ran the Little Angels children's ministry and ran the food bank. She enjoyed being in the kitchen, and was an excellent cook and baker. In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by her brother, James Decatur Jr., and her sisters: Stephanie, Ashley and Emily Decatur. A joint Life Celebration funeral service was held March 7 between Kingsmead Baptist Church and Paradise Valley Baptist Church in Cresco. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
