Obituary of Samuel Rodriguez, Jr.

Samuel Rodriguez Jr., 56, of Mount Pocono, died March 16, 2015, at his home. He was the loving husband of Eva (Rios) Rodriguez, with whom he shared 11 years of marriage. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., he was the son of Samuel Sr. and Vivian (Aponte) Rodriguez of Bronx, N.Y. Samuel was an esteemed architect, entrepreneur and artist. He started his own business, SR Retail Productions Inc., which catered to major clientele and retail business. His love for detail and wood construction are displayed his own home, which he designed. His hobbies included painting, rendering, woodwork detailing, building and construction. Samuel had a loving spirit and a charming sense of humor. He was an excellent provider, a role model to both his children and grandchildren, and a loving husband. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his sons: Federico Diaz of Mount Pocono, and Richard Rodriguez of Boston, Mass.; his daughters: Selina Rodriguez of Miami, Fla.; Samantha Rodriguez of Mount Pocono; and Olivia Diaz of Hagerstown, Md.; his sisters: Gladys Rodriguez of Three Bridges, N.J., and Denise and Suzanne Rodriguez, both of Bronx, N.Y.; two grandchildren: David Vallejo and Isabella Jolie Diaz of Whitehall; his mother-in-law, Gloria Figuera Rabaza of Bronx, N.Y.; his sister-in-law, Jessica Rabaza of Bronx, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 19, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Rev. Paul Fontanella will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Mount, 27 Fairview Ave., Mount Pocono. Entombment will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg.
