Obituary of Alladean R. Waite

Alladean R. Waite, 90, of Mount Pocono, died Monday, March 31, 2015 at Brookmont Health Care Center in Effort. She was the loving wife of the late Anthony Dean Waite whom passed away in 1955. Alladean was born in Franklinville, N.Y. She raised her family in the Jamestown, N.Y. area where she worked for the Blackstone Corporation in the personnel department. She was an active member of the First Covenant Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and was a member of the Women's Club. During the 70's she moved to Colorado where she worked as a customer service representative for Colorado Blue Cross Blue Shield. In 1986 she moved to the Poconos and began work at the Strickland's Inn and later worked as a supervisor at Hillcrest Retirement Community. After her retirement in 2000 she continued to work at Hillcrest part-time in the activities department where she enjoyed running Bingo for the residents. On the weekends Alladean was very passionate about helping her son at the Marshalls Creek Flea Market which she loved. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Westbrook of Mount Pocono and her granddaughter, Vanessa Westbrook also of Mount Pocono. In addition to her husband, Anthony, Alladean was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Waite. There will be a viewing from 11-12 p.m. Friday, April 3 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Pastor Jonathan Hall will conduct a funeral service at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Private cremation is entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
