Obituary of Regina S. Gotty
Regina S. Gotty, 95, of Tobyhanna, died Friday, April 10, 2015, at Pleasant Valley Manor in Stroudsburg. She was the loving wife of the late Raymond G. Gotty, who predeceased her in 2013.
Born in New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Sarah (Van Gieson) Stark.
Regina was actively involved in her children's activities as they grew up, including leading both their Girl Scout and Cub Scout troops in Livingston, N.J. Regina enjoyed her role as a crossing guard in Livingston for many years. Her most important role, however, was caring for her family. She was a loving and doting wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She had a fondness for reading and never gave up an opportunity to envelop herself in a good book.
Her lifelong love of animals brought her immeasurable joy. Whether it be her horse, her beloved cats or animals in the woods, her gift was to love them and they loved her in return.
She is survived by her son, Raymond Gotty and his fiancée, Nina Allen, of Blairstown, N.J.; daughter Lu Ann Gotty of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; two grandchildren, Christina Gotty and Raymond Gotty Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. "Reg" will be fondly remembered by friends and neighbors who loved her as family. Her bright smile, laughter and stories are gifts left to our memory. In addition to her husband, Regina was preceded in death by her sister, Muriel Lowin.
There will be a visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 17 at the Church of St. Ann, Main Street, Tobyhanna. The Rev. Michael Kloton will celebrate a Mass of Christian burial at 7 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests making a, donation to your favorite animal charity in Regina's name.
Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
