Obituary of Robert DeBerardinis

Robert A. DeBerardinis, 84, of Greentown, died Tuesday, October 25 at home. He was the husband of Patricia (Gelardo) DeBerardinis. Born in Ossining, NY, he was the son of the late John and Adeline (Furnaro) DeBerardinis. Before his retirement, Robert was employed as a correctional officer at the Sing-Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, New York for over 30 years. A veteran of the United States Navy, he was a member of the American Legion Post #506 in Ossining, New York. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Robert also enjoyed fishing. In addition to his wife, Patricia, he is survived by a son, Robert DeBerardinis of Fort Washington, MD; three daughters, Susan Carretta and her husband, Dean of Ossining, NY, Lisa Conger and her husband, Donald of Greentown, PA, Patrice Shocker of Putnam, NY; two brothers, two sisters, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his dog, FeFe. He was preceded in death by four brothers. There will be a viewing on Friday, October 28 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road in Cresco. The Reverend Father Greg Loughney will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29 at St. Bernadette's Church in Canadensis. Private cremation is entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Monroe County SPCA, RR Box 1237, Godfrey Ridge Drive, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
