Obituary of Virgil Aden Slye

Virgil "Peck" Aden Slye, 84, of Tobyhanna, died Monday, May 11, 2015 at Celtic Hospice in Wilkes-Barre. He was the loving husband of Dorothy L. (Kendall) Slye of 61 years. Born in Garden Valley, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Clyde K. Sr. and Vera (Daberkow) Slye. Peck was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. He owned and operated Slye's Gardens in North Brunswick, N.J. for 35 years and retired in 1989. Peck loved to Bowl, play Horse Shoes and throw Darts and belonged to many leagues over the years. In addition to his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by his son, Keith M. Slye, Sr. of Levittown; daughter, Cindy Lynn Slye of Tobyhanna; grandchildren, Keith M. Slye, Jr. of North Wales, William Virgil Slye of East Stroudsburg and several nieces and nephews. Peck was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde Slye, Jr. and sisters, Juanita Slye and Ramona Orsini. Pastor Linda Keefer will conduct a memorial service at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 13 at the Stroudsburg Wesleyan Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stroudsburg Wesleyan Church 915 N 5th St, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
