Obituary of Kathleen Powers

Kathleen M. Powers, 98, of Scranton, died Monday, May 11, 2015 at Holy Family Residence in Scranton. She was the loving wife of the late Daniel J. Powers who passed away in 1989. Born in New York, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. Sr. and Margaret (O’Sullivan) Carroll. Kathleen was an avid antique collector. She was a long time residence at Holy Family and a former member of Our Lady of the Abingtons and the Lioness Club. She is survived by a son, Kerry M. Powers of Sebastopol, CA; two grandchildren and her dear friend, Elizabeth Schofield. In addition to her husband, Daniel, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Powers and brothers, Joseph Carroll and Charles F. Carroll, Jr. The Reverend Father E. Francis Kelley will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 19 at Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Kathleen may be made to the Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave, Scranton, PA 18509. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
