Obituary of Robert McGreevy

Robert A. McGreevy, 76, of Mt. Pocono, died Wednesday, October 26 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Perri (Candia) McGreevy. Born in South Orange, New Jersey, he was the son of Paul and Christine (Smith) McGreevy. Before his retirement, Robert was a traffic manager in the warehouse industry. In 1980, he was a member of the first graduating class of deacons in the Metuchen New Jersey Catholic Diocese. He served as a deacon at St. Peter and Paul Church in Great Meadows, New Jersey for approximately 15 years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Mount Church in Mt. Pocono. Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy. In addition to his wife, Perri, he is survived by two sons, James McGreevy and his wife, Laura of Port Murray, NJ, Michael McGreevy and his wife, Judith of Great Meadows, NJ; two daughters, Melissa Flaherty and her husband, David of Gerardville, PA, Maureen Myers and her husband, Randy of McDonough, GA; three step-children, Tony Crisera and his wife Patricia of Syracuse, NY, Craig Crisera and his wife Judy of El Paso, TX, Glenn Crisera and his wife, Jackie of Staten Island, NY; a brother, William McGreevy and his wife, Helen of West Orange, NJ; fifteen grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline (Springer) McGreevy. The Reverend Father Joseph Kopacz will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 28 at St. Mary of the Mount Church in Mt. Pocono. There will be a visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Peaquest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows, NJ. Private cremation was entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
