Obituary of Marilyn Ruth Fritz

Marilyn Ruth Fritz, 77, of Tobyhanna, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph G. Fritz, who passed away in 2009. Born in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Arnold and Ruth (Feltman) Parker. Marilyn raised her family in Ocean Township, N.J., where she was a phys. ed. teacher and coached sports including field hockey and swimming. She retired to Pocono Farms CC in Tobyhanna and enjoyed many activities and clubs over the years. She is survived by her son, Scott Johnston and his wife, Maureen, of Manlius, N.Y.; daughter Kelly Howley and her husband, Shawn, of Waynesville, Mo.; five grandchildren, Ryan, Shane, and Connor Howley, Fintan and Teagan Johnston; sisters, Kathryn Meaders of Cleveland, Ga.; Evelyn Jackson of Haslett, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her brother, Arnold Parker. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 2, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A funeral service will begin at noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg.
