Obituary of Stewart A. Tannahill

Stewart A. Tannahill, 75, of Tannersville, died Friday, June 12, 2015, at Slatebelt Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Bangor. Born in Chatham, N.J., he was the loving son of the late Robert A. and Gertrude (Maul) Tannahill. Stewart was an electrician and worked for Champion Dairy Pak in Morristown, N.J. He was battalion chief at Hillside Hose Company, and instructor at the Morris County Firefighters and Police Training Academy. He was an avid scuba diver and, in his spare time, enjoyed amateur radio as a ham operator, call sign KB2 VVB. He is survived by his sons: Glenn Barrett Tannahill and his wife, Ida, of Blossvale, N.Y., and John Robert Tannahill and his wife, Tina, of Canastota, N.Y.; daughter Tracy Brown of Tannersville; and his grandchildren: Matthew, Kimber, Adam, Cody and Casey. There will be a visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday, June 21, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Pastor George Alt will begin a memorial service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Stewart may be made to Hillside Hose Company No. 3, 132 Western Ave., Morristown, NJ 07960.
