Obituary of Robert J. Hullihan

Robert John Hullihan, 70 of Pocono Lake, died Monday, June 15, 2015 at Acute Care Medical Center in Scranton. He was the loving husband of Nancy (Weinert) Hullihan who shared 32 years of marriage. Born in Kulpmont, he was the son of the late Harold J. and Marion Naomi (Schultz) Hullihan. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Robert served during the Vietnam War. He became a Corrections Officer and worked in the Philadelphia Prison system for 31 years. After retirement, he moved to the Poconos in 1999. Robert loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He was a master wood carver and could fix anything. In his spare time he enjoyed oil painting and was a huge Star Trek fan. Robert was a member of the Mount Pocono United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his daughters: Audrey Steel and her husband, Jim of Philadelphia, Amy Bianowicz and her husband, Tod of Philadelphia; step daughters: Cheryl Monreal of Philadelphia, Kimberly Ehring of Mechanicsburg; brother, Thomas Hullihan and his wife, Jane of Morgantown; five grandchildren, five step grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 12 at the Mount Pocono United Methodist Church. Pastor Samuel Kofi-Ashley will begin a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the church.
