Obituary of Bruce B. Morris

Bruce B. Morris, 73, of Long Pond, died Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Celtic Hospice in Wilkes-Barre. He was the loving husband of Harriet E. (Leverich) Morris of 48 years. Born in Wiccopee, New York, he was the son of the late William and Hazel (Blaine) Morris. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He moved his family to Pennsylvania back in the early 70s to start fresh and raise his family in the beautiful Long Pond area of the Pocono Mountains. Bruce loved to sit around with friends and enjoy a beer or two and also loved spending time with his family fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a member of the American Legion Wilson Fischer Post 413 in Pocono Pines. Dad always had a welcoming smile and never turned away anyone in need no matter what the circumstances. He was a father and grandfather figure to many and will be truly missed. In addition to his wife, Harriet, he is survived by his three daughters, Peggysue Belanger and her fiancé, John, of Pocono Lake, Sharon Smith and her husband, Randy, of Blakeslee and Carol Ramm and her husband, William, of Hanover Township; three grandsons, Michael, Scott and Joseph; five granddaughters, Christine, Corissa, Vanessa, Elizabeth, Gillian and Emily; two great-grandsons, Jackson and Logan; and many friends. Bruce was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Morris; and son-in-law, Peter Belanger. There will be a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 7 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Rev. Sharon Purvis will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Harriet c/o Carol Ramm, 245 S. Main St., Hanover Townhip, PA 18706. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
