Obituary of Thaddeus Posluszny

Thaddeus J. Posluszny, 83, of Canadensis, died Thursday, October 27 at VNA Hospice at CMC in Scranton. He was the husband of Eileen (Murphy) Posluszny. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late John and Stephania (Zuba) Posluszny. Prior to retiring, Thaddeus was an agent for the Long Island Railroad. He was a member of St. Bernadette's Church in Canadensis and was a fourth degree in the Knights of Columbus St. Bernadette's Council 12447. He served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his wife, Eileen, Thaddeus is survived by his three children: Patricia Posluszny, Paul Posluszny and Lauren Kelly; his two grandchildren: Nicole Posluszny and Gearoid Kelly; several nieces and nephews and his furry family Amber and Peaches. He was preceded in death by his sister: Viola Kokoczynski. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, November 1 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Cresco. Reverend Father Joseph Kopacz will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 2 at 10:00 am at St. Bernadette's Church, route 390 in Canadensis. Interment will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 2 in the Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Drive, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
