Obituary of Lucy A. Bockelman

Lucy A. Bockelman, 61, of Pocono Pines, died Friday, July 10, 2015 at her home. Born in Bedford, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Mary (Stone) Kurtz. Lucy loved spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest passions were cooking, Arts & Crafts, animals and being in her garden. She is survived by her son, John Switzer of Pocono Pines; two brothers, Christopher Kurtz of Tannersville, Thomas Kurtz of Elizabethtown, KY; nieces and nephews, Christy J. Hempstead, Alycia Leigh McDermott, Kyle Kurtz, Samuel Kurtz; great-nieces and nephew, Jameson Hempstead, Chloe Hempstead and Lileigh McDermott. In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Robyn Kurtz and best friend, Suzanne Dally. Pastors Luke and Carey Richards will conduct a memorial service at 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, at the Pocono Lake Wesleyan Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pocono Lake Wesleyan Church, 203 Spur Rd., Pocono Lake, PA 18347 or AWSOM American Welfare Society of Monroe, PO Box 13, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
