Obituary of Paul H. Lanwes

Paul H., 81, of East Stroudsburg, formerly of Deer Park Long Island, died peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Marianne (Kollmann) Lanwes to whom he had been married for 59 years. Born in Emsdetten, Germany, he was the son of the late Albert and Anna (Wonnemann) Lanwes. Once arriving in 1955 to the states he began work in heavy construction. He enjoyed singing with the Huntington Liederkranz German Singing Society. After his retirement he found joy and relaxation boating and fishing and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Marianne, he is survived by his children: Peter Lanwes and daughter-in-law Mary (McCarthy) Lanwes of Huntington, NY; Heidi and son-in-law John Schiefele of Plandome Manor, NY; a brother, Heinrich Lanwes of Breman, Germany and grand-children: Peter Lanwes, Kevin Lanwes, John Paul Schiefele and Sylvanna Schiefele. There will be a service of Christian Burial at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 16 at the Church of St. Patrick, 400 Main Street, Huntington, N.Y..
