Obituary of Robert Charles Koenig

Robert Charles Koenig, 88, of Cresco, died Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Whitestone Care Center in Stroudsburg. He was the loving husband of Elsie (Keller) Koenig to whom he had been married to for 61 years. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Hoflacher) Koenig. Robert lived in the Poconos for over 45 years. He worked and retired from Mount Airy Lodge where he was a chef. Robert enjoyed fishing and the great outdoors. In addition to his wife, Elsie, he is survived by his son: Ronald Koenig and his wife, Alexis of Bucks County; daughter: Susan Koenig of Ashville, N.C.; four grandchildren: Melissa Georgiades, Elia Georgiades, Jeremy Koenig and Elizabeth Koenig and many nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road. Pastor George Alt will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Robert may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
