Obituary of Florence Y. Gerrity

Florence Y. (Saitta) Gerrity, 92, of Tobyhanna, peacefully went to be with the lord our savior on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph J. Gerrity. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Carmelo and Francesca P. (Cassara) Saitta. Florence was a member of the Women's Guild at St. Ann's Church. While she will be missed, she will always be in our thought and prayers as her long life will forever be remembered and celebrated. She is survived by her sons, Gerald "Jerry" Gerrity of Ocala, Fla., Charlie Gerrity and his wife, Cheryl of Bangor, Michael Gerrity of Tobyhanna; daughters, Lorraine Larkin and her husband, Barry of Merrick, Long Island, Joanne Lemanski and her husband, Justin of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Maureen Foley and her husband, John of Pottsgrove; grandchildren, Alyse, Sean, Deana, Stacy, Kelly, Joseph, Michael, Christian, Ryan, Marc, Christine, Danielle, Katie, Collin and her 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Cathy Ann and six siblings. There will be a viewing from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 26 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father John Boyle will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday, July 27 at St. Ann's Church, Main Street, Tobyhanna. Burial will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
