Obituary of Donald Bishop

Donald Bishop, 80, of Long Pond, died Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the loving husband of Carmela (Martino) Bishop who he shared 61 years of marriage. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Homer and Eleanor (Weiderman) Bishop. Donald spent 30 years with the New York Police Department where he was Commanding Officer for the 84th and 77th precincts and for Highway District 1 and 3. He retired as Deputy Inspector in 1986. In addition to his wife, Carmela, he is survived by his son, Donald Bishop and his wife, Denise of Eatons Neck, Long Island; daughter, Karen Warren and her husband, Guy of Lake Success, N.Y.; brother, Roy Bishop and his wife, Carol of Long Pond; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 6, at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will conduct a blessing service at 10 a.m. Friday, August 7 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Cemetery, 2030 Wellwood Ave. Farmingdale, N.Y.
