Obituary of Harold E. McNeil

Harold E. McNeil, Sr., 67, of Tobyhanna, died Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at home, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Diahann (Mossop) McNeil and the son of the late Howard Schenck and Hester McNeil. This Queens native was a proud veteran of the United States Marines. He spent 31 years with the New York City FDNY-EMS. After retirement, Harold became a bus driver for the Pocono Mountain East School District. He was a collector of many things and especially loved photography and singing in the church choirs. Harold enjoyed watching football and was a die hard Eagle's fan. He will be remembered for his encouraging words, warm smile and a inviting embrace. He is survived by his wife, three sons, daughter, stepdaughter, five sisters, his in-laws, and seven grandchildren. There will be a viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, September 18 at the Shawnee Tabernacle Church, 16 Carriage Trade Center, Tobyhanna. Reverend Georgette Simmons will conduct a funeral service at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Forest Green Park Cemetery, 535 Texas Road, Morganville, N.J.
