Obituary of Anne D'Amato

Anne D'Amato, 79, of Tobyhanna, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2015. She was the loving wife of Frank D'Amato, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Scribano) Gabriel. Anne loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. Before retiring, Anne was an entrepreneur, operating her own clothing boutique for a number of years. In retirement, Anne enjoyed many wonderful trips with her husband, doting on her grandchildren, and cooking and trying new recipes. She was also a member of the Women's Bridge Club and the local Crime Watch. In addition to her husband, Frank, she is survived by her children: Gregory D'Amato and his wife, Diane, of Teaneck, New Jersey; Jeffrey D'Amato and his wife, Heidi, of Belmar, New Jersey; and Kenneth D'Amato and his wife, Karen, of Wyckoff, New Jersey; and her grandchildren: Joseph, Max and Noelle D'Amato. Anne was preceded in death by her sister, Julia Arnalfitano. There will be a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at St. Anthony's Parish, 276 Diamond Bridge Ave., Hawthorne, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the VNA Hospice of Monroe County, 502 VNA Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. Private cremation has been entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
