Obituary of Richard J. Sack

Richard J. Sack, 88, of Tobyhanna, died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the loving husband of Therese (Mahoney) Sack who he shared 32 years of marriage. Born in Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late Hugh and Elizabeth (Cantaluppi) Sack. Richard resided in the Poconos since 1993. He retired from Shearson Lehman Brokerage Company in New York, NY and currently worked at Bill's Shoprite in Mount Pocono, which he loved. In addition to his wife, Therese, he is survived by his son, Richard Sack of Tobyhanna; brother-in-law Michael Mahoney and mother-in-law, Sabina Mahoney; sisters-in-law, Sr. Mary Weber; Sr. Rita Weber; Sr. Marie Ribus; niece, Patricia (Reilly) Ruggier and her husband, Michael; nephews, Dominic DiLello and wife Lorna; Timothy Mahoney wife Elizabeth and daughter Sylvia; Jonathan Mahoney wife Casey and daughter Reagan; Dennis Mahoney and wife Kathy; three great-nieces, Julia Ruggier, Felicia and Danielle DiLello; great-nephew, Michael. Richard was preceded in death by his brother, John Reilly. There will be a viewing from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 8 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. The Reverend Father Gregory Loughney will conduct a blessing service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pocono Medical Center ESSA Heart Center. Private cremation is entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
